It’s been a busy and creative couple weeks for Jane 1530. We are in the middle of finalizing our designs for some great new products that will hit early next year. It’s been challenging, interesting, confusing and of course fun to go through this process.

When I started designing the 1st Tee Collection I had a checklist of things that had to happen. The list was based on my years of golfing and wearing not-so-great fitting golf clothes. I am not going to say it was easy, but it wasn’t too hard. I choose great fabrics, cuts that flatter every woman and the result was confidence on the course—a game changing feeling.

I still have the goal of having everyone experience the finer things in golf and I believe the best way to do that is to create that awesome on course feeling off the course. Items that remind you of that perfect sunny day that resulted in a bogey free round or that sun-setting quick nine filled with great conversation and friendship. Simple, right?

To me good design is more than what it looks like. It must feel good, perform and have a purpose. It needs to connect. So, I’m spending a lot of time with a good-correction-GREAT friend with extreme talent. We selected products then decided against them and then decided on them again. We talk endlessly about the vision of the brand and what it should feel like. We sketch, scribble and create on napkins, back of receipts and computers. I say things like, “It needs to look like enough but not too much.” That is literally a direct quote from me. Followed by, “you know what I mean, right?” Clear as mud! We are so close and getting closer to finalizing every day.

Life is a course. Play well.

P.S. Thank you to the best Chief Brand Officer ever.
